Energy Saving Tips for the Week of October 11, 2011

We have the following energy tips for the Week of October 11.
  1. Use fans instead of air conditioners, a savings of about $73 per month.  A ceiling fan on for 8 hours per day uses 24 kWh per month or $7.
  2. Plant native plants, trees, shrubs, or trellises around your home to keep your home cooler.
  3. Shorten showers. Cutting just two minutes per shower could save up to 1,533 kWh and $460 per year.
