Harvest

Ms. Correia's Class had their vermicast harvest on May 21, 2012.  During the harvest, they separated the vermicast/worms from the unprocessed chunks.  After the harvest, students were able to separate the worms into 3 more additional worm bins which will be used by Mrs. Lactaoen, Mr. Matsuura, and Ms. Tasha Firestone's classes next school year.  The students had a fun time at the harvest!  The vermicast will be used in the school's Native Hawaiian garden.  Thank you to Mindy Jaffe, Waikiki Worm Company and the City and County for their support of this project!  Stay tuned for more information next school year!

New Recycling Bin

We have a new recycling bin on campus. Currently, the bin is located in our lower parking lot near our rubbish bins.  You can now place all recyclable materials into one bin. You do not have to sort your recyclable materials.  The bin will take the following recyclable items:  plastic bottles, glass bottles, newspapers, office paper, cardboard, aluminum cans and bi-metal cans.  We cannot take magazines, gloss paper, telephone books, ceramics, polystyrene foam, plastic bags, toys, confetti, shredded paper or trash.
