Book of the Month for March/April
The Principal's Book of the Month (March/April) is "Amazing Grace" by Mary Hoffman and illustrated by Caroline Binch. Grace is amazing indeed! She has boundless imagination and loves to act them all out. When her class plans a production of Peter Pan, Grace knows she wants to play the lead. Classmates tell her she can't do the role.
A saddened Grace relates the day's events to her mother and grandmother. They tell her she can be anything she wants to be, if she puts her mind to it. Inspired by a weekend ballet performance by a Trinidad dancer, Grace's indomitable spirit is renewed. She auditions for the part of Peter Pan. She shines during her audition and wins the lead, hands down!
The IB Learner Profile which is demonstrated is being a risk taker, thinker and inquirer. The IB attitude which is highlighted is enthusiasm.
